The Brandywine Workshop occupies two buildings and a public
plaza on a mini campus at 720-734 South
Broad Street, on the Avenue of the Arts Cultural District in
South Philadelphia, just seven blocks below the downtown business and
tourism areas. Broad street if also considered the 14th street as it
runs between 13th and 15th streets.
If driving, both the Interstate
I-95 highway and Schuylkill
Expressway Western Extension have signs directing one to the Broad Street
Exit. Interstate 76 also connects to
the South Street Bridge (University
of Pennsylvania Exit), which runs south to Broad Street a block from the site.
Turn right at Broad and proceed one block to Brandywine.
If using public
transportation, Brandywine can be reached by the # 27 and 32 Buses and the Broad
Street Subway.
Brandywine is just 5-10
minutes by taxi from downtown hotels and 10-20 minutes walking distance from the main business and tourist
attractions. Important cultural venues within a few blocks walking distance are:
the University of the Arts, The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Wilma
Theater, Shubert Theater, Academy of Music, High School for Creative and
Performing Arts and the Rock School of Dance. Our next door neighbor is the
Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts (corner of Broad and Fitzwater Streets)
at 734 S. Broad Street.
In addition to street parking there are parking lots along
the 1300 and 1400 blocks of South Street.
The Print Studios are open 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM Monday through Friday
and weekends by appointment, please call in advance of your visit. The Galleries
