Brandywine, through its galleries and exhibition programs, provides the opportunity for artists to exhibit works of the highest quality, and for the Philadelphia area community and out-of-town visitors to experience the diversity and creativity of traditional printmaking. Exhibitions are presented in two venues -The Printed Image Gallery in the Firehouse Building at 730 S. Broad and the Glass Lobby Gallery at 728 S. Broad. Go to E-Newsletter for announcement of current exhibitions. The Printed Image GalleryThis museum quality gallery presents culturally and aesthetically diverse contemporary exhibitions. Staff and guest curators select works by former visiting artists and others, presented as one person and group exhibitions. Exhibition themes sometimes help direct the selection of artists for residencies, while others are jointly organized with various institutions or come to Brandywine as traveling exhibitions. All exhibitions are works on paper: prints, drawings, photographs and collages. (Artists’ applications for exhibitions are not accepted.)The Glass Lobby GalleryThis gallery displays periodic exhibits from the Brandywine permanent collection and special projects.National and International Traveling ExhibitionsBrandywine organizes exhibitions for touring nationally and throughout the world.
